Here's How Zonnique Pullins Feels About Her Parents' Divorce Playing Out On Reality TV
Zonnique Pullins, who is currently starring on "Growing Up Hip
Hop", has addressed her parents' marital drama playing out on the
reality show "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle".
Pullins claims she is proud of the estranged couple for showing their "messy stuff" for the world to see.
Zonnique was asked about the current family dynamic now that Tip and Tiny are headed for divorce.
She
said of their relationships, "It seems really the same to me, I would
say. I still get to see pops and all my other siblings all the time. I
feel like they still see each other. Everything is still the same."
She explained, "I was really proud. I felt like we are about to show some real drama. Our show is always so family oriented and always so positive. Even if it starts bad, it always ends positive. So I wanted to see some messy stuff. I was ready for it to be a little different and for people to see what really goes on inside a marriage.
Pullins previously opened up about dealing with the
highly-publicized split of her mother, Tiny, and her step-dad, T.I.,
stating that not much has changed.
The singer
said, "Well, our [Zonnique and T.I.'s] relationship hasn't changed. I
feel like they've been married, to me, since they met each other.
They've just been so in love from the beginning."
Pullins has witnessed the rocky parts of their marriage previously.
"I got to watch so many ups and downs. He says I was 5 when he came
around, but I didn't even know it was that early. But just watching
them, and being able to see the ins and out of it, the ups and downs, I
learned to more just stay out of it."
Zonnique attempts to avoid any of the couple's drama and has found it difficult not to side with her mother over the years.
She
explained, "Me, being my mom's child over his, you kind of get attached
and wanting to stick up for my mom and stuff like that and it's really
just not your place. So, I just try and stay out of it as much as
possible."
Zonnique may not be bothered by Tiny and Tip's relationship drama
being televised, but she adds that she won't be doing the same. Pullins,
who is dating her high school sweetheart Damian Swann, admits she's
hesitant about putting their business out there for the world to see.
She said Damian will not be appearing on "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta."
Zonnique adds, "I don’t like how attached people get to your
relationship. If something happens in your relationship, they wanna know
what happened, they wanna bring your old boo up… People just get too
attached."
What do you think about T.I. and
Tiny's decision to televise their crumbling marriage and decision to
divorce in front of the reality TV cameras?
