Bishop Balla’s Death Was Homicide – Medical Report

Bishop Balla’s Death Was Homicide – Medical Report

Cameroon Journal, Yaoundé – An autopsy has been conducted pointing to murder and not suicide in the death of erstwhile Bishop of Bafia, Msgr. Jean Benoit Balla. Since the body of the Bishop was found floating in the River Sanaga a few days back, speculations were rife about the circumstances leading to his murder, but medics have concluded a postmortem which shows the prelate was murdered.
“An autopsy conducted on the Bishop’s lifeless body showed clear signs of violent death, and no evidence of death by drowning,” quoting the medics’ report. An unverified message that went viral on social media suggested that Balla was “tortured, one of his hands mutilated and his genitals removed. It added that his body appeared electrocuted”.
The Cameroon Journal could not immediately verify the reports which also hold that the clergyman was murdered for trying to expose government’s involvement in the murder of another priest just weeks before Balla’s own death. It is unclear why the priest was killed but some accounts hold that he was critical of homosexual practices by top government officials.
Some have since questioned why there was no water in the Bishop’s lungs or innards if he actually drowned.  Also, others are questioning how a body that was purportedly in water for over 2 days would be found floating instead of being at the river bed.
Meanwhile, it has also been alleged that villagers around the locality where the bishop’s body was found, heard the sound of a helicopter between 2 and 4 a.m. that day and a crash (plausibly the bishops body) being dropped from the aircraft. This has led those who hold this theory to conclude that the crash would explain the broken limbs which the prelate had.
Since his passing, the Bishop of Bafang, Msgr.Abraham Kome has been appointed by the Vatican as interim bishop until a permanent replacement is found for the deceased Balla.  The Catholic Church in Cameroon and the general Christian community are still in shock following the prelate’s unfashionable passing and have been pouring in their tributes to the fallen man of God.

Pope demands Nigerian priests' obedience over Ahiara bishop

Pope demands Nigerian priests' obedience over Ahiara bishop

Pope Francis has given the clergy in Ahiara until 9 July to write a letter asking for forgiveness

Pope Francis has told a group of Nigerian priests to pledge obedience to him or face suspension from the church.
The row is over the refusal by clergy in the diocese of Ahiara to accept the appointment of a bishop made in 2012.
The pontiff told an audience of Nigerian Catholics in Rome last week that the "people of God are scandalised" by what has happened.
It is unusual for the pope to issue this kind of threat, says the BBC's religion correspondent Martin Bashir.
He gave the clergy until 9 July to each write a letter declaring their obedience to him and asking for forgiveness.
The president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, was at the meeting in Rome and told the BBC that the pope was very sad about what was happening and he could see "the pain in his eyes".

Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama said the Pope was visibly upset
"He was upset that his children were going in a different direction," the archbishop added.
Ever since Bishop Peter Okpaleke was appointed by the Pope's predecessor, Benedict XVI, Archbishop Kaigama has been part of a group trying to persuade the clergy in Ahiara, south-eastern Nigeria, to accept the appointment.
He told the BBC that the problem was that the local clergy and the bishop were from different clans of the Igbo ethnic group.
He added that the priests also questioned why someone from outside the diocese was appointed when one of them was just as qualified,
In 2012, the clergy held protests and coordinated petitions asking for a bishop to be chosen from the area.

Praying 'for God's intervention'

But Archbishop Kaigama argued that the "Catholic church has been operating like this for hundreds of years and that's not going to change now because they want someone from their area.
"The Pope needs absolute obedience."
Ahiara is in Mbaise, a predominantly Catholic region of Imo State, while Bishop Okpaleke is from neighbouring Anambra State.
It is not clear if the clergy has responded to the ultimatum.
In the meantime, Archbishop Kaigama said, he, and other Nigerian Catholics, were praying "for God's intervention" to help find a solution.

BOMBSHELL!! Return To God Or You Die In Office – Ebonyi Prophet, Chukwudi Warns Buhari

An Ebonyi State-based Prophet, Emmanuel Chukwudi has predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari will continue to experience serious health challenges that will eventually lead to his death while in office, unless he turns away from his alleged sinful ways.
Chukwudi, who is the Pastor of Kings Deliverance Church, in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state warned that until Buhari returns to God, calamities will not depart from him.
Recall that Chukwudi recently prophesied ‘doom’ on Muhammadu Buhari.
In his latest prophecy, the Ebonyi-based Prophet expressed disappointment that Buhari was not serious about seeking the face of God in order to get salvation and deliverance.
According to Chukwudi, “God showed me that people around Buhari think that he is now well. I see them consulting occult powers, dark marine powers. He won’t seek the face of God. No matter the occult power they consult, it’s in vain; until they seek the face of God.
“The calamity remains. The death remains. His people should not rejoice, trouble is still filled in the basket. Unless they seek him, what has been prophesied must surely befall him. Those consulting Ogboni pastors, marine kingdom pastors and evil and occult pastors are wasting their time. These are words from the Lord. He has spoken.
“The calamity coming for him will be worse than any he has seen before, says the Lord God of heaven. Those rejoicing will have their joy cut short, because of this. They better seek the face of God while it’s early.” he added.

Trial Of Church Leaders In B’da Postponed Again

Trial Of Church Leaders In B’da Postponed Again

The joint trial of the Archbishop of Bamenda, Mgr. Cornelius FontemEsua; Bishop of Kumbo, Mgr George Nkuo; Auxiliary Bishop of Bamenda, Mgr. Michael Bibi, and the Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, Godwill Chiatoh Ncham, which was supposed to begin at the Bamenda Magistrate Court today, Monday, June 5, has again been postponed again.
Barrister Julius NguTabe Achu, the lead legal counsel for the consortium of parents that dragged the church leaders to court, told The Post, when contacted by phone in the evening of Saturday, June 3, that they have requested the Bamenda Magistrate Court to take a new date for the case, because he is not feeling well. But he said, though they have made a proposal to the court for the new date, it will be for the court to either confirm the date or give a different date.

The church leaders were dragged to court by the purported consortium of patents on a 7-count charge, including an accusation that the church leaders collected school fees from students in their different confessional schools but refused to re-open their schools, and that the church leaders allegedly propagated false information, among others.
The consortium of parents is also claiming from the church leaders billions of FCFA.
The case was first billed for last April 21, but was postponed to June 5, under the pretext that the judiciary was bereaved (see The Post No. 1814 Friday, April 21, 2017).
The Archbishop of Bamenda, Mgr. Cornelius Fontem Esua, declared in April that he would like the case to be heard rapidly by the court, so that the matter can also be rapidly cleared.
But The Post has learnt that the real reason for continuous postponement of the opening of the case is that the Government got really frightened with the way Christians in Bamenda,in particular, and the Northwest Region, in general, mobilised in their thousands to storm the court on the day that their church leaders were to appear in court on April 21.
Our source said that, in the light of the massive mobilisation of christians to jam the court, the Government does not want the case to go ahead, in a bid to avoid the Anglophone Crisis taking another dimension.
But, at the same time, the Government has not told the so called consortium of parents to drop the case. To leave the matter to hang in court, at least, for now, looks like another strategy by Government to use the matter to blackmail on the church leaders.
Achu Criticises Halle’s Crusade
Meanwhile, contacted by The Post on June 3, Barrister Julius Achu also reacted to the ongoing lobby by the Peace Crusader, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, who is pleading to the Head of State to grant general amnesty to all Anglophones arrested in connection to the ongoing Anglophone Crisis, and that the general amnesty should include putting a stop to the cases filed by the consortium of parents in Bamenda and Buea against church leaders in Anglophone Cameroon.
Barrister Achu said it is the right of Barrister Halle, like any other Cameroonian, to lobby for anything from the Head of State.
“If he succeeds, then fine. I am a democrat and so I have no problem with him taking a position. But the problem with Anglophones is that, when it comes to me using my democratic rights to take my own independent position on a matter, I am faced with death threats.
Some people think you must take a position not according to your democratic rights, but according to their own dictates”, Achu frowned.
Achu, a former Treasurer of the Cameroon Bar Council, after acknowledging the fact that it is right of Barrister Halle, who is also the President of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association to lobby for general amnesty, however, criticised Barrister Halle for not looking at issues objectively.
“Ntumfor wants amnesty for the church leaders. What about the parents who paid huge sums of money as fees for the 2016/17 academic year to confessional schools run by these church leaders, and the church leaders refused to re-open their schools?
Why does Ntumfor not also think about the rights of these parents who want their money back? Well, if Ntumfor is prepared to reimburse those parents on behalf of his church leaders, then, fine,”Achu said.
Barrister Achu who is a staunch CPDM militant, in what looked like toeing the party line, found another fault with Barrister Halle’s lobby for President Biya to grant general amnesty.
“What Ntumfor is doing is against the spirit of his recent appointment by President Biya as member of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism.”
CPDM party line which is respected by CPDM elite, requires that, if President Biya appoints somebody to a post, the person must, in return, toe the line by becoming an unconditional supporter of the regime and cannot take any position against the regime’s policies.
But Barrister Nico Halle holds that he is an independent personality and does not play party politics.
Father And Son
Professionally speaking, Barrister Achu is the first son of Barrister Halle, having been the first pupil lawyer that Halle trained.
Last year, Barrister Achu was the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the celebration of Barrister Halle’s 30 years of legal practice.
Also, when Barrister Halle was elected President of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association at the end of January 2015, Achu was designated as the Littoral Representative of the Bar GA President.

Clergy Given Heroic Reception in Bamenda, Buea After Case Adjournment

Bamenda – Catholic Bishops in the Northwest and Southwest, the Executive President (EP) of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) and the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) were all given heroic reception at the Bamenda and Buea Courts of First Instance by swelling crowds after appearing in the courts to answer to lawsuits against them brought by a hitherto unknown Consortium of Parents with Children in Mission Schools.
In Bamenda, the clergymen were ushered into the town from Up Station by a mammoth crowd brandishing fresh branches and leaves, singing, shouting and cheering as cars carrying the Reverend men drove past hundreds of excited onlookers drawn from their homes by the fanfare. As the convoy drove past, the EP of the CBC branched off to Nkwen Baptist Church at the Baptist Center while the Catholics moved on to the Big Mankon Cathedral amid more fanfare.

Gendarmes who had been sent for a war-like encounter hung their heads in shame as the throng of Christians sang at the top of their lungs, waving their Bible and Roseries high up in the air. Soldiers with rifles on their shoulders felt uncomfortable and could be seen, hiding behind their truck conspicuously parked at Finance Junction.
In Buea, the Moderator of the PCC was the center of attention after breaking down in tears just after the case(which never held for reason that the magistrate needed more time to look at the file). The Moderator said the court challenge which has befallen the church is a chance for the church to soar like an eagle and not sink

below these trying moments. He said amid tears that it was an opportunity for the church to shine the light of God.
Meanwhile, Police and soldiers who had mounted at strategic positions in both towns were very shocked to see the massive crowds that turned out behind the church leaders, not knowing how they found their way to the courts. Some said it was God’s doing and not man’s.

Pope Francis admits how he REALLY feels about Donald Trump’s leadership

Donald Trump, forgive, Judge, Pope Francis, President
Arinze Ani
Pope Francis was interviewed by two Spanish reporters on January 19, during which he spoke about U.S. President Donald Trump.

Speaking to the El PaĂs reporters, Pope Francis described how people judge Trump’s words as a businessman. What they forget is how a new role can change a person.

“We must wait and see,” the pontiff explained, saying he wasn’t worried at all about Trump’s presidency.

As a businessman, Trump filled a certain role. He was responsible for people in a completely different environment. He did and said things the pontiff may not have agreed with but for now, the Pope said, “I’m waiting.”

He wants to see what Trump will do under the role of United States President.

“God waited so long for me, with all my sins,” Pope Francis stated, adding: “Being afraid or rejoicing beforehand because of something that might happen is, in my view, quite reckless.

“We will see. We will see what he does and then we will judge – always on the concrete. Christianity either is concrete or it is not Christianity.”

President Donald Trump gives his first presidential speech.
The reporters asked about Trump and populists within the U.S. and Europe who “capitalize on fear in the face of an uncertain future in order to form a message full of xenophobia and hatred toward the foreigner.”

Without hesitation, His Holiness replied: “Crises provoke fear, alarm. In my opinion, the most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933. After (Paul von) Hindenburg, after the crisis of 1930, Germany is broken, it needs to get up, to find its identity, a leader, someone capable of restoring its character, and there is a young man named Adolf Hitler who says: ‘I can, I can.’

“Hitler didn’t steal the power, his people voted for him, and then he destroyed his people.”

Pope Francis continued, explaining how in times of crisis, the majority of the population goes off in search of a strong leader they believe will turn everything around.

“Let’s look for a savior who gives us back our identity and let’s defend ourselves with walls, barbed-wire, whatever, from other peoples who may rob us of our identity,” the pontiff said of the public. “And that is a very serious thing [but] no country has the right to deprive its citizens of the possibility of talking with their neighbors”

Keep in mind that the “majority” of the people in the US did not vote for Trump. Only half of registered voters actually went to the polls and slightly less than half of them voted for Trump, so he gets support from 25%, opposition from 25% and apathy from 50%.
Our problem is apathy. Why should we bother with things here and now when our religions tell us we get a second chance? Why should we care? Our entire purpose in life is to get from here to over there, wherever it is that Yahweh-Jesus, is, right? Nothing else really matters. This is what religion teaches us…. and if you’re a Catholic, you know that nothing in life matters except avoiding Hell, right? It’s all about the fear.
AnonJanuary 24, 2017 at 9:17 pmReply
Where are you getting your statistics? It seems to me and according to polls I’ve read and evidence points to the majority did vote for Trump.
Also, your gravely mistaken about the way a Christian should live his or her live, that it is all about getting to heaven with no concern with here on earth and it’s all about fear. This is not the Christian message nor how we view our journey here. It is here on earth that we are given the opportunity to express our love for God and for one another and to show our love and our gratitude to God by appreciating what we are given. If you’re a Catholic, nothing else in life matters except loving God, and this includes loving our neighbor and treating the world we live in with graciousness and stewardship.
