A young Cameroonian singer is currently under intensive medical care in Yaoundé after narrowly escaping death in a rather shocking car accident. Daphne, author of popular "Calle", was hit in a car by a pick-up at the parking space of Katios Night-Club where she was preparing to stage a show.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, at 3:40am local time.
According to a Canal 2 worker who was also involved in the incident, the young lady was with her team [ and the man from Canal2] in a car preparing for the concert when a pick-up came and hit the car at the night club's parking. The lady is facing cerebral uneasiness, the man says.
"Her manager and I are well but Daphne is under intensive medical care,"Romaric Tene narrates.
The man added that the singer has been X-rayed already and is currently at the Yaoundé Central Hospital.
The mystery of a car crashing into another car already parked at a night club comes to add to a host of other puzzles in Cameroon in recent weeks. The dust has not yet settled on the mysterious death of Bishop Jean Marie Benoit Balla who was found dead at the banks of the Sanaga River. He had disappeared three days earlier, leaving his car on the bridge with a note, "I'm in the water".
Another female singer of the Macase Band, died a few days ago in yet another accident. Merveille Tsang'mbe died on June 2 in Yaounde.
